GENERAL'S HOUSE

This historic officer’s home on the Fort Sheridan army base was completely obsolete when our clients, a young couple just starting a family, purchased it. They needed a home that could be enhanced and expanded gradually over the years. To start, we made necessary technical updates and reconfigured interior spaces to suit a more contemporary, non-military lifestyle. Over time, we restored much of the structure’s historic detail and made modifications that enhanced its character-defining elements. Years later, we added a family room addition.

This home received two Preservation Awards from the City of Highland Park Preservation Commission.
