WILLIAMSBURG COLONIAL STYLE

This residence began as the coach house for an estate built in 1894.

Originally, there were small living quarters above the stable area. Around World War II, an addition was added to the coach house that included a master bedroom, kitchen renovation, and a formal living room.

The client wanted a new library room addition where he felt comfortable lounging. He also wanted a place where he could store books, listen to music, watch TV and display his antique collection.

The formality and brightness of the existing living room could not be destroyed by the library addition. So we added a glass filled loggia between the library and the living room. This loggia doubles as a quiet resting place and corridor space to the library.

The library is completely paneled in cherry wood and includes a hand carved mantel with a green marble hearth and surround. The room also includes a big screen TV, electronic components, and display cabinets.
