Beach Cottage

Located in the century-old beach community of Grand Beach, Michigan, our clients have deep family roots there and wanted to build a new cottage that fit-in with the neighborhood.  They also needed plenty of living space for their growing family of adult children and their spouses, and their expanding brood of grandchildren.

Through thoughtful consideration of each room, we designed a plan to accommodate our clients’ needs, while maintaining the home’s small cottage feel and intimate building scale of the street. The home was sited in such a way that only two trees were removed during construction, and lake and ravine views were maximized.  Appointed with historic charm, our client’s new cottage is truly a beach treasure inside and out.
