Schiller Park Metra

The Village of Schiller Park wanted a train station that could spark the redevelopment of a neighboring blighted commercial district and inspire a community as a whole.  Since its existence, this new Metra station has helped to shape the identity of the community and enhance the character of the surrounding neighborhood.

Designed in the Colonial architectural style, we sited the station on the highest portion of the site to give the building prominence, and with minimal landscaping, created a landscaped tableau.  We selected building materials that required very little maintenance by the Village, while being durable for the long-term future, proving that beauty is possible even within a fairly limited budget.
